Go, Go, Go Gromit!

Gromit goes solo at the Freckleton Half Marathon (591 Ran)...

A really well organized event this one and the weather was brill but it did come back to haunt me in the later stages.

Never run a half marathon or anywhere near this distance before so decided to do this one instead of Hendon Brook basically because Freckleton was flat!

Got of to a great start and was hitting 7 minute miles right up to about 10 miles, then started to struggle with the heat and the distance and had to really dig deep as the approaching stitch seemed to be starting.

Knuckled down and got to the 11 mile marker and much welcome crowds cheering us along and we came back into the village. To be honest I was running on fumes for the last two miles so I'm not sure how quick the last two miles were.

Glad to get over the finish at the end so different to running 10K and running in such heat! Time 1:31:50, Pos 85. Well done everyone at the Hendon Brook...maybe next year!

I was glad to get home to my basket and a piece of cheese on a cracker!
