Burnley Fire 10K
To the inaugural Burnley 10K road race what was formally the Burnley 7. The race has been modernised to reflect the newly constructed Burnley Community Fire Station which was completed in May 2013. The course mainly follows the old route but now takes a short cut up Mount lane and straight back down Ormerod road rather than the scenic route around Queens Park.
The race was established by Station Commander John Whiteman back in 1987 and takes place in October every year. The event typically attracts around 200 competitors and is open to anyone over the age of 16.
The event is a major fundraiser in the Fire Station calendar which in previous years has managed to raise almost £1000 for the Firefighters Charity and Pendleside Hospice. Hopefully with your support we can aim to beat that record again this year.
