Great Langdale Half Marathon
A beautiful hilly half marathon road run around England’s most scenic valleys.
The Langdale Half Marathon has a reputation of being amongst the toughest road events in the UK. Exceptionally hilly with some parts of the course climbing 1:3 gradients, this challenging race attracts a both seasoned runners as well a large number of ordinary people looking to challenge themselves.
Hosted in the beautiful Langdale valleys the route takes the runners in an anticlockwise direction from Great Langdale to Little Langdale through to picturesque hamlets of Skelwith Bridge, Chapel Stile and Dungeon Ghyll.
With a low key, friendly atmosphere, everyone is made welcome by the race organisers Rod and Dorothy Berry.
Fun Run
For all ages, children especially welcome, the Family Fun run heads up the valley to the Old Dungeon Ghyll and back. Starting one hour before the main race, parents can easily run with their children and return to complete the main race. Entries are £3 and only payable on the day. All the finishers get an ice cream or a medal.
