Meet from 6pm to start training 6.15pm.
This is a very accessible and adaptable weekly training run that is open to senior runners of all abilities. Although everyone will follow the same general route outlined below, people may be split into two or three groups on the night - each with a qualified run leader - to run between four and eight miles.
STANDARD ROUTE • 6.4 miles • View on Mapometer
Go down Harrison Drive turning left at the first roundabout then all the way along Birtwistle Avenue to the mini-roundabout. Turn right here and go straight across the next roundabout then crossroads and along Castle Road. Just after the crest of the slope turn right down Venables Avenue and go left at the bottom then around the roundabout to follow the main road on to Laneshawbridge. In the village turn sharp left at the Emmott Arms going all the way up the hill and past the Alma Inn. Carry on the country lane around the double bend (TAKE CARE) until you reach the T-junction with Old Skipton Road. Turn right here then left just after the house to rejoin Castle Road. Follow this back to the first mini-roundabout you passed on the outbound route but here continue straight up to the top of Red Lane past Sacred Heart school. Keep going as the road narrows though the woods, then turn left at the large white house along the Tarmac road and path into the park and back to the pavilion.
SHORTER ROUTE • 4.5 miles • View on Mapometer
Follow the Standard Route until you reach the roundabout after Venables Avenue, here taking the first left up Ligett and Old Skipton Road. Follow this until the junction with Castle Road just before Colne Golf Club, turning left to follow the final 1.5 miles of the Standard Route.
