Borrowdale Fell Race

Well, always being one to listen to his body when it's telling him it's not right, Jim limped out of the campsite to the start of this pleasant little 17 mile / 7000ft Lake District jaunt. Well, you're at the start, you may as well give it a go - apparently! So off he went...........................and realised he was injured ;-) He was in a lot of pain by Scafell, but dragged himself to the checkpoint at Honister Pass, & decided that descretion was better part of valour and very sensibly retired - I should think so too! Well done for giving it a go Jim, just hope now that you haven't cause too much damage for your week of racing in the Isle of Man! The race was eventually won by Ben Abdelnoor from Ambleside in 2:52:37 with Ellenboroughs Ricky Lightfoot only 19 seconds behind. The ladies race was won comfortably by Eyri's Andrea Rowlands in 3:47:43
